Journal for Week 3

Each week of the project, student must submit a project journal entry. The journal entry consists of three parts:

1. Description. What happened in your project this week? What did you do? Experience?

I had a meeting with the director on the phone as well as one in person. I saw where I will be doing filing for them and met a few of the other workers at the CLC.

2. Interpretation. What did you learn from your project this week? About the project? About the issue? About yourself?

I learned what it is like to have a real interview process for a job. I learned more specifically that I will be filing, making newsletters, and making programs. I learned that I will be dealing with a lot of rough scenarios. I also learned that the blog site does not work well in my room...actually the internet in general...

3. Evaluation. How would you evaluate your work on the project this week? What grade would you give yourself? Are you accomplishing the objectives of the project? Your personal objectives?

I would give myself an A because it was a very productive week. I am accomplishing my objectives.

1. Description. What happened in your project this week? What did you do? Experience?

Nothing really happened in my project this week. I sent an e-mail and made a phone call.

2. Interpretation. What did you learn from your project this week? About the project? About the issue? About yourself?

I've learned patience this week. I've also learned that after being patient sometimes it's necessary to take action. Other than that there's not much to report.

3. Evaluation. How would you evaluate your work on the project this week? What grade would you give yourself? Are you accomplishing the objectives of the project? Your personal objectives?

For this week I'd give myself a B- because I did wait, like I should have, and then I called, like I should have, but I don't really feel comfortable giving myself an A when I didn't accomplish much. I haven't accomplished my objectives yet.

Weekly Project Journal

Each week of the project, student must submit a project journal entry. The journal entry consists of three parts:

1. Description. What happened in your project this week? What did you do? Experience?
This week I edited my resume and submitted it to the Children's Law Center of Minnesota. They have not responded to me yet, but when they called me they informed me that they have to review my resume and then they will get back to me.

2. Interpretation. What did you learn from your project this week? About the project? About the issue? About yourself?
I learned about how complicated a resume can be and that it would be nice to have a fax machine. I have not learned much more about the project itself, only that they have received my resume and cover letter.

3. Evaluation. How would you evaluate your work on the project this week? What grade would you give yourself? Are you accomplishing the objectives of the project? Your personal objectives?
I think I made good progress this week because I've been trying to get my resume in since they've called me and now that the lady from career services is better and so am I, that meant that I was able to get the Children's Law Center the information that they need about me. I also felt good about the resume itself because the woman at career services did not have to make too many changes to it. I would give myself a B for the week because I wanted to have my resume in earlier, but now I have done all I can so a B seems fitting. I have not yet accomplished any objectives of the project simply because I haven't been able to meet with them yet and I won't begin working there until the end of the month at the earliest, and I would have to say the same answer applies for my personal objectives.
