The Tractor is Comming...

Life on the street is rough...

We are still working on the street, but we are almost to the Pit of Despair. Exciting... kinda. Same old stuff, moving a lot of dirt. It looks like where we dug before is the only part of the street with bad walls and missing pavers, the worst possible luck. Tomorrow we should reach the pit, and the tractor is comming to help us punch out the last bit to the decimanus. Beginning of next week we should be sweeping and getting ready for the parade down the cardo de amore. I am excited about that. Our team is rapidly shrinking though, so we'll see.

I say it again, life in the street is rough...

The Trench Of Hope (Or the Tunnel of Love)

Well its back at the road this week folks. We did some heavy picking today in E6, it was fantastic. We have 2 solid walls on either side of the street, and we get to move a lot of dirt! Its my kind of digging. There really is not much to tell, except we cleared about 2 meters of street today, which I am pumped about. We were throwing out names for our trench as we were digging, and someone said it looked like a tunnel, but when I suggested the tunnel of love, people didnt like the name... I wonder why? Out of The Abyss... For a Day

So they finally got a tractor to help elongate the abyss. So while the tractor was working today, I got to help out our friends in C5. We spent the day working in the eastern half of our square. Because of the squares around us, the Good Professor was concerned about several possible walls, so much of the late morning was spent digging with garden shovels. It turns out that the north-south wall we all though was there wasn't, but we have a very promising east-west wall we weren't expecting at all. So the hour or so before we left the let me get in with a pickax to really get things moving. I was happy. tomorrow I am told I get to go back into the abyss. Fantastic, I'm really looking forward to it, Professor. Your Bro in Christ, Kevin

Blogging... About That...

This past week has been nuts.

I was thinking we'd have all this time off in the afternoons to relax by the beach, finnish class work, blog... Let's just say reality was a bit different.

That being said I am going to be making a concentrated effort to keep up on my blog from this point on (partly because it is quasi-required for class) and let ya'll know how the dig has been going.

I spent the day in E8 today where we basicly hauled rocks all day. If Bob were here he would have called lightning out of the sky to consume all the rocks, but sans Bob we had to do a lot of work. We found a little more street, and about leveled the other half of our square. It rocked.

Well pray for my school work over here, I'll need all the divine help I can get to get it done on time. Haha, hope ya'll are well.

Kevin

Summer Reading Blows...

So I'm not really sure if anyone checks these or not, but I have a few min so I guess I'll tell ya'll a little bit about myself. I'm a 19 year old communications and theological languages major from St. Louis. Last year I attended Concordia Seward, but for a variety of reasons am transfering to Concordia Chicago in the fall. I love to ski, bike, climb and hike. And ultimate frisbee is the single greatest sport ever invented. I don't really know what to expect on this trip, but I'm ready to roll with it. I just got back from Juarez Mexico on a mission trip, so I have 3 days to sleep, unpack, repack and do all my reading for the classes. Whoohoo, looking forward to meeting ya'll thursday.
