The past two weeks I have mostly been doing a lot of work on chapter two. I have gathered a lot of articles, each covering a different aspect of teen pregnancy, such as the causes, ways to prevent it, and information on what happens after a teen has given birth. It's been really interesting to find all the information and a lot of the statistics are quite shocking. Aside from that we have gotten another large donation in from a parent at Hand in Hand Childcare Center. I have also talked to another parent who is giving us a large donation next week so that's really exciting. I'm glad that it's going so well so far and even if we get very few donations the rest of the time I think we have gotten enough to make it count.

This week we received two large bags of donations of baby and toddler clothes. My partner and I went through the clothes and sorted it by size and by whether it was for a male or female. We are both very excited that we have made such progress in such a short amount of time and even if we don't get that many donations from the rest of the parents at the center, I feel as though this will make up for it. The director of the center also told us that they have a large bag of stuffed animals they would be willing to donate as well. Other than that I started looking into possible sources I can use for my research and planning what my next step will be. I'm glad my project is going so smoothly so far.
Now that the fundraiser at Woodbury LifeCare Center is done, my partner and I are back to focusing on working with LifeCare Center East. One of our objectives at the beginning of this project was to find ways to get donations to the center. One idea we tossed around was to write letters to parents at the childcare center I work at asking them to donate any new or used baby clothes and supplies to LifeCare Center East. That is our project's focus this week. We wrote a draft of the letter to the parents then sat down with the director of the childcare center to revise it as well as to discuss ways to go about collecting the donations. We decided the best way to collect donations was to have the parents give them directly to the teachers in each room or to the childcare director herself. Each week before going to our project site my partner and I plan to collect any donations from the previous week. We have left the opportunity to donate opened until the end of the project in March in order to get as many donations as possible. After meeting with the director we wrote up the final draft of the letter, made copies and signed the letters and distributed them to the parents of the childcare center. Overall I feel pretty confident about how this donation process will go because there is no pressure to parents to donate and we have given a lot of time for parents to donate.
