Hi! I finally get to start this blog! I feel that I should start by saying that I've finished The Irresistible Revolution and that I'm very excited to talk with everyone about it. The book made a rather strong impression on me, and I'd like to see what everyone else thought and felt.
I suppose I should introduce and say a few things about myself and all that, so here goes. Hi, I'm Christine, I just graduated from Irondale High School in New Brighton, MN. I grew up very familiar with Concordia (if any of you are going to be in choir, you'll realize why), so coming to Concordia for school was mostly out of economic necessity. However, more and more I'm feeling that this is where I am meant to be, and I can't wait to begin school.
I really enjoy participating in music and theater, and I hope to do both in college even though I'm planning to be a math/biology major. Actually, I enjoy basically all school subjects and was reluctant to give any of them up when choosing a major. I figure I can major in math and biology, squeeze in some psychology and writing, and then participate in music...in my free time.
Hmm I think that's all I can stand to describe about myself. Oh, I just remembered! This was excellent timing to figure out how to work this blog, since tonight I went to a presentation by the Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb. He's a pastor at Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, Palestine, and he said a lot of things that I felt tied back to our assigned book. In particular, he said, "A crazy world like this needs lots of crazy people like us."
See you all later!
