Caleb at Last Supper

caleb at last supper (Large).JPG
This photo is from our "last supper" at the fish restaurant on Thursday night. Caleb thanked me for posting photos of him during the dig and reported to me that he had a great time and was glad he came. We were all delighted to have him part of the team, especially when we needed big rocks lifted out of squares.

Here's Caleb with buddy and roommate Carl at "the last supper." A good time was had by all. I hope to post more photos on the Dig It blog at the airport later today.

Caleb requested this picture! On Wednesday afternoon we met in the clean laundry recovery room, and Caleb was GLAD it was the last time he'd have to paw through piles of other people's laundry to find his own. However, he did say he enjoyed the hot weather and the food here. On Thursday on the way down the hill, I eavesdropped on the conversation between Caleb and Kristina. He confessed to Kristina that the work on the dig, though hard, gave one a certain satisfaction and was enjoyable "in a different kind of way."
On Sundays our pastors lead us in worship (other days we have short devotions led by lay members of the team). Here's Alex Bednar and Caleb before this Sunday's service began. As one can see, dress is casual.

Thanks, Liz, for taking and sending me the photo!
Lisa and Wade: I'll leave it to Caleb to explain what's going on here when he gets home!

Contrary to the sound clip, this is CALEB, not Carl! Sorry! And I cut him off just before he said, "I'm having a good time here."

Caleb & Will are enjoying the food and ambiance in the dining room at the Lutheran Guesthouse on Saturday, July 11. It's a big step up from breakfast on the dig site!!
Dominus Flavit (Large).JPG
July 10 in Jerusalem! Caleb and Carl are at the entrance to Dominus Flavit, the church on the Mount of Olives commemorating the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem.
