So this past Monday was my first day at PLUS Time. All i can say is wow. These kids are so unique. I think the thing that surprised me the most was how quickly the kids took to me. They welcomed me and my help with open arms. They did not judge or act concerned. I am sure they probably were a little concerned, but they did not show it. For my first day there. The kids focused on reading. They started by picking out a book and finding all the nouns and verbs from the story. After they found all the nouns and verbs they were to make up a story using the verbs and nouns they found. The PLUS Time schedule is seperated into 3 parts. The first hour is spent on an activity that deals with reading, math, or science. After the activity they have a snack, and then the older kids work on home and the younger kids play a game or activity. This is where I would teach a short dance class.
So Monday is the next time I will be at PLUS Time I am excited to see what is planned. I am also excited to see the kids and how they react to me being there again. This has become something that Iook forward to. After last Monday I was so excited to go back again the next Monday. It is what I have looking forward to all week.
