About Me
Though I love to talk and share stories about my life, I am actually finding it quite difficult to decide what to write here. Perhaps it is because I have so many things I could write and can't figure out which is most important, or perhaps it is simply because all who will read this are forming a first impression of me that may or may not be true when we meet in the fall. However, since I am a person who enjoys challenges and generally takes the initiative, I will just start writing. :-)
I currently live in St. Louis, Missouri, but have moved around throughout my life. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, lived in Nebraska and South Dakota during my early childhood and elementary years, moved back to Taiwan during middle school, and finally moved to St. Louis between my freshman and sophomore years of high school. If that is confusing (and yes, I know it is), I can try to explain it better later.
My father (who is Taiwanese) is a pastor at a Chinese Mission Church here in St. Louis, and my mother (who is American) is his secretary. They met when my mom was a missionary in Taiwan. I have a younger brother who will be a junior in high school and a younger sister who will be a freshman.
I have grown up with a heart for missions in my blood and I am planning to follow the same career pathway. I am planning to go into elementary and secondary math education and take that degree overseas. I'm thinking about teaching in an international school and planting/assisting churches on the side.
I currently work at Great Harvest Bread Company (a bakery that specializes in 100% whole wheat bread) and Ariel Premium Supply (a factory that supplies promotional products). I also teach Sunday School to preschoolers and play piano at church most Sundays. I love to read and learn new things.
Since I'm guessing that 5 paragraphs is a sufficient introduction, I think I will stop for now. I am excited to meet everyone in the fall and God's blessings on the rest of your summer!
Hey! I'm excited to hear more stories from you experiences, and maybe we can go out to a Taiwanese restuarant at some point and chat! Very cool. and I LOVE Greast Harvest Bread Company... does your work give out free slices of bread too? because that is the best. haha. anyway, look forward to meeting you!
