We had to hike up about 850 steps to see this monestary, but it was totally worth it. This place was unbelivable!!

This is an example of what I have been drawing. This drawing is a top plan for one of the digging squares.

jess 1st wall- 3.jpg
This picture was from a couple of days ago, on the right side is a wall that has shifted. This is a before picture.

This is an after picture, after we pulled some rocks out and rearranged them. This made the wall more stable and it looks alot better too. Chris was pretty good at fitting all the rocks into place, he is the architectural artist on the dig!!

Today was pretty eventful, we had to move alot of rocks this morning before the sun came up. Later I helped Chris reconstruct a wall that had been shifted. In my square (E8) we have found a cistern, columns, stairs and a road. It has been interesting, we dont know how everything fits together but it has been fun to dig there so far. I am curious to see what else we find and what this area could have been used for.

This is my wonderful dig team! Me, Glenn, Carl, Linda and Chris!!!!!

Tonight a bunch of us went out to celebrate the first week of digging. Everything has gone by fast however it will be really nice to have a day off. Tomorrow I will be laying out on the beach with Linda and Nancy, we all have these floaty rafts that we are going to lay out on. It will be great, hopefully we wont get flipped by the waves!
