Hello Epsilons

Dear Honors Epsilon Class members:

Like most of my fellow members of the Delta class, I have already read through all of your blogs and added you as a friend on facebook (If you haven't already added me, find Jay Weiler from Auburndale, WI) - also I go by Jay so you can call me that). We all are trying to learn any little shred of information on each other before we awkwardly meet in the fall, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. Last year, I read David's "about me" post and saw that he was born in Canada and then moved to Texas but it never really sank in until he repeated the dang story 6 MILLION TIMES! Basically what I'm saying is that you will learn about each other by spending a lot of time together, and trust me, we will have a lot of time together. (That being said, the about me blogs are important so get them done.)

Here's a funny story: Kyle and I added each other on facebook last summer and proceeded to facebook stalk each other to the point where we knew what each other looked like and could pick each other out on the street (side-note: it's cliche to say, but you will become quite good at facebook stalking). In fact, we knew what each other looked like so well, that when we ran into each other during welcome week, we both recognized each other. However, we were both so ashamed to admit it that we just kind of looked at each other awkwardly until we simultaneously (sp?) broke.

Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself while I am in the mood to write a long blog post. My name is Jarett (but like I said, call me Jay). I currently live in Wisconsin but I have been in the Cities so much this summer anyway that I feel I live there. I am in a band with some awesome guys on campus (Own the Night: check us out on facebook; also we'll be playing shows around St. Paul during the year) and my girlfriend Kylie also goes to Concordia. The first thing that you will notice about me when you meet me is my height - I'm tall. Anything else you need to know about me, look on facebook - it's probably on there somewhere.

Lastly, I'm going to end with a word of advice. You will not make it through Honors without having a little bit of fun with the whole thing. Yes it is tough and yes it is stressful and yes it will take up a lot of your time. But the best thing to do is to find a way to joke around and laugh about things as you go through them. Make friends that will stay up with you until 4 (or 5 or 6) in the morning to finish a paper. This is also cliche to say too but I've done it (Kyle and David are the experts on this). And finally, you really do get what you work for. My grades would have been a lot better if I would have done all of my blog posts both semesters; they were easy points and I gave them away. Thanks for reading this post that was way too long. Hope you took something from it.

Ok I swear this is the last thing I have say. I once heard that there are three things in college: schoolwork, sleep, and social life. The only problem is that you can only pick two. If you can balance all three successfully, you are a saint.
